reasons to be happy

-my birthday is coming up (7th, buddies, get your stuff together)
-my concert went well, i still love to sing
-still haven't gained winter weight (birthday cake danger still dangling ahead though)
-there's harvey
-i have a place to live that i love
-everyone in my closest family circle is alive

sometimes i visit my blog just for the sake of it, like the editor of a magazine checking out the latest issue. i look at serife's, ozlem's, and i go to mine. it's coming home in a sense. no that theirs are not familiar. just different. i believe with my girls we possess the same hearts, but we take different routes to self-expression. yes, i am away. blue is the dominant theme here where i am. at least for me.

i wore a black vintage-look dress. ozgur was so cute, and so was kursat. i love them so much, they made me feel so good about everything before and after the gig. we are a team now. just when i'm ready to go, i feel i belong somewhere. i guess that's the way of things here, i.e, life. some songs we liked doing and did well: smooth operator (it felt like an unplugged version of sade's, very cool) come rain or come shine (bluesy, soo delicious) almost blue (i almost cried, seriously) angel eyes (always) devil may care (i gave it a tad bit of melancholic flavor, i liked it) spooky (fun-ky) i was tense. in spite of the crowd who was there to really listen to me, at "my jubilee" as we called it. you gotta leave it at a height. i ended up taking a cab back home on my own at 2 a.m. the measure of just how lonely i am in this city.

Heisey

A famous handmade glassware company, Heisey went out of business in the 1950s but still sends passionate collectors hunting the Holy Grail of their own: the perfect piece, the dream Heisey of each individual collector. I am lucky enough to conduct an interview with a very knowledgeable and long-time collector, as well as lucky enough to be around her rich and beautiful collection every day, as she is my grandmother-in-law. Joyce Rohde was kind enough to answer all my questions.
