the move

it's raining outside, i'm sheltered, and i feel thankful. we had a long day of moving and very little sleep last night. we had to give away so much of our stuff that we couldn't have afforded to keep. but all in all, we are over with it, and we are so lucky to have friends that helped us through it all. we have to live out of the luggage for a while, and my organizing capabilities will find a way to keep what we need the most within our reach. and so a big overseas move is going to have happened, and they will live happily ever after.

Wish you a beautiful new year ahead Pelin...

This New year eve, I had an early dinner and was home by nine 'o' clock. I had yummy chicken roast, cutlets and a pudding...

New Year Eve for lots of people in India is about getting drunk and boisterous, students go around streets on bikes and cars howling, brawls and fights also happen on streets...

Parties and countdowns are also aranged in restraunts and resorts, but this year was kind of a low key affair. Partially due to the economic slowdown and partially due to the terror strikes on Mumbai and the looming threat for other cities...

Thank you Vinod, wish you a happy new year too. I don't know what the big fuss about new year's is, except that one day in primary school when i was working in the school library, the year changed from 88 to 89 i think, but i went on jotting down 1988 to book lending dates, realized a few days later and panicked like hell. Now that's what new year means to me, don't forget to adjust your dates!
